Demonstration following the U.S. Supreme Courts refusal
to review Pennsylvania Supreme Courts denial of Mumia
Abu-Jamal's appeal for a new trial. (New York 1999)
Mumia Abu-Jamal is a journalist and former Black Panther
who was convicted and sentenced to death for the 1981 murder
of a Philadelphia police officer. Many consider him a political
prisoner and believe that he was framed. His case has drawn
international attention. His death sentence was recently thrown
out, but he is still being denied a new trial.
